Custom Tiaras

Four women who wear tiaras to keep track of one another in the crowds of Comic Con, approached me to make some custom pieces. They each gave me a theme to design from: Psych (a television show on USA), peacock, fleur-de-lis/angel wings, and TARDIS blue (a reference to popular sci-fi show, Doctor Who). After translating each theme into a design, I transferred the drawings to a piece of heat-formed plastic, then dremeled away the negative leaving only the outline. Jewels were then laid by hand.
