The Thrilling Adventure Hour Puppets
After seeing my Croach puppet at San Diego Comic Con 2014, I was contacted by Ben Acker and Ben Blacker to create puppet versions of other characters from their podcast, The Thrilling Adventure Hour, based on the illustrations in their graphic novel of the same name. With team of assistants, I built eleven puppets, one for each of the core the cast members. Characters included: Sparks Nevada, Croach the Tracker, The Red Plains Rider, Virginia West, Barkeep, Frank and Sadie Doyle, Amelia Earhart Fearless Flyer, Colonel Tick-Tock, and Phillip Fathom. The puppets were presented as gifts to the cast at their 10th Anniversary show. Custom coats for Sparks, Red, and Tick-Tock, and Sadie Doyle’s dress by Elizabeth Hara. Assistance by Michael Schupbach, Dan Young, Kimb Luisi, Kari Love, Stacey Weingarten, Ian Sweetman, Liz Hargnett, Peter Nish, Euralis Weekes, Brant MacDuff, Jessica Simon, Tyler Fey, Jenny Ingram, Josie Cook, and Aidan Earle. Thanks to Puppet Kitchen and Den Design Studio for use of their facilities.
